The Sports Legacy Fund
Funding Local Sports Since 2007
The Sports Legacy Fund was established as a result of the 2007 sale of the WHL Kamloops Blazers Hockey franchise. The fund invests in amateur sport organizations in Kamloops and surrounding region through the annual issuance of grants to benefit these organizations and their members.
The fund strives to create sustainable sport initiatives through opportunity, growth and excellence. Wherever possible, financial support is accompanied by efforts to build the capacity and effectiveness of the organization. Funds are allocated based on the previous year’s return on the investment of the Legacy Fund, the capital of which is to be maintained to perpetuity.
